This cap is made from repurposed vintage indigo dyed Kasuri and lined with modern Japanese fabrics.

Kasuri is a Japanese textile technique in which yarn is selectively bound and dyed before weaving, so that when the cloth is woven, the pre-dyed sections align to form a pattern. Because hand-binding cannot be absolutely precise, the edges of the pattern carry a subtle blur or feathered quality. The word kasuri actually comes from the Japanese verb kasureru (掠れる), meaning "to blur"

• Repairs, aging, slight fading are all part of these vintage textiles and it’s why each hat is unique and one of a kind.

• Our 5 panel hats are meant to ride a bit shallow on the head akin to vintage caps from the 1940s. If your cranium is of the larger variety please contact me for a custom fit.
